AI strategy · Digital AND ONLINE learning · Institutional change

Helping educators and administrators make thoughtful, people-centered decisions about technology and learning.

For twenty years, I have helped to shape and implement institutional academic strategy and priorities. As Associate Provost for Digital Learning and Inquiry at Middlebury College, I lead the Office of Digital Learning and Inquiry (DLINQ), a team that partners with faculty, staff, and students across all of Middlebury’s programs to leverage digital technologies in support of teaching and learning. I also oversee Middlebury Institute Online and its six online programs serving learners around the globe.

I believe people use AI best when they approach it as a thinking partner rather than an answer box, and that AI strategy must meet people where they are. Leading AI professional learning, I have learned that we need to simultaneously tackle people’s concerns (assessment, academic integrity) while inspiring them to build custom tools that support specific needs and priorities.

Amy Collier

“Amy has an almost instinctive ability to help set strategy and align people and resources toward that strategy. She removes silos while authentically valuing the work that people are doing and builds agreement among stakeholders. She is very well connected with other creative thinkers across higher education and knows how to balance cutting edge ideas with a respect for the cultures and traditions of an institution.”

Where I focus

AI strategy and implementation

Helping institutions move from AI anxiety to intentional practice: faculty development, governance structures, and policy grounded in shared values.

Academic innovation and digital learning

Building online programs, course design partnerships, and professional learning that change how people teach.

Leading change through people

Aligning teams and stakeholders around institutional priorities, and using data to show what’s working and what needs to change.
